sub:culture started as a weekly Friday night at SoHo restaurant TAILOR, like a downtown secret in the funky basement lounge. After 6 fantastic months, the venue changed hands, and the party went on hiatus for a month. In February of 2010, the party re-launched with two different sub:culture events at two great downtown NYC venues – STAY (244 E Houston), where sub:culture creative director Jon Martin formerly held a coveted Friday night residency, and M1-5 (55 Walker St), in conjunction with digital music distributor IODA.
Both parties were packed and got amazing responses – so the crew decided to do split monthly parties at each, beginning on May 15th at STAY, and continuing on June 24th at M1-5.
sub:culture collaborated with long-time DJ/Promotion crew Flipside and produced 2 Winter Music Conference events on the C-Level rooftop of the Clevelander Hotel in Miami.
sub:culture is currently co-producing a show on June 22nd (Wednesday) at DROM 85 Avenue A featuring DJ Markus Rice and Trumpeter Volker Goetze and his orchestra.
There is an exclusive preview party for sub:culture at the NIGHT hotel on West 45th Street scheduled for Friday, July 1.
